Bernice has had breast cancer that is now in her bones. She heads up a team for RELAY FOR LIFE. I am a member at 71 and will "do" the event on June 19th, 2009, all night
This is a homage to breasts, as beautiful as morning sun
This kitchen tool, actually anything round, looks like a breast
Breasts
Aren’t breasts the coolest?
I just love them? mine?
And, actually, I really love yours?
But don’t look too long,
People will talk.
So soft and giving,
Just thinking about
My little mountains,
Warm caps seeking baby mouths,
So peaked and pointed,
I may explode - alone.
But wait, they also speak
Of sorrow, sagging,
Lost suckling, gone the children,
Or no children,
Or look here, a node,
That greedy cancer
Comes calling -
The cutting, the taking
But wait again?
There is still joy
The memory of touch,
Those tasty hills
Filling me with longing
And gratitude?
After all is said and done,
Plumped up or falling,
I wear them with style?
These breasts in time - not yours -
But still completely mine.
